Tried to post here yesterday but cant find it anywhere so here goes again.I got a 65 3000 taht i just used 2 days for bushhogging and it ran fine.Went to start it after changing the oil and rinsed the dirt off her and it only clicks. With the key held to on position and i move the shifter to netural it will only click,i think its getting juice down to the starter but i aint too good with motors. It does push start just fine. Can someone share some wisdom of where to start looking for this problem.

I agree with Micah. Check your connections. Battery, solenoid, coil, ignition switch, voltage regulator, generator, etc, etc.
The mantra is "keep em clean bright and tight".
In the toolbox on both of my tractors I keep a plumbers 1/2" fitting brush. Cleans battery posts, electrical connections, grounds, wires, spade and bullet connectors and what have you.
Get you one = about $3 at most home centers in the plumbing dept.

get yerself a cheap analog meter and you can actually verify that power is getting tot he starter.. vs the 'faith' based info you are going on now.

ditto what the others say.. clean brite and tight.

Did you rinse it with high pressure water that might have knocked a connection loose? Did you get any water in to any of the electrical components?
