I had my 8n running a couple of weeks ago and then we got a sub zero cold snap this week. I cannot get the tractor to start. I put some gas line antifreeze in and a new 6 volt battery yesterday. I wore the battery down today and am trying to recharge it. I have a reverse polarity hookup (posative to negative, negative to posative) on the battery. When I hookup the charger pos to pos, neg to neg on the 6 volt setting, the needle reads around 9. The needle stays still on 9, like it should, for a few minutes and then starts to flicker like crazy. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas on what to do? I have gotten the tractor to start cold before but this time its being extra stubborn. Thanks for any help.
