Which makes the better puller for a 10,500# class, the 966 or 1066.

Or are thier othier IH tractors that have a better frame to take a dt 466, and have the best weight for the 10,500# class?

Thanks for your thoughts in advance.

i saw one in a 826 yesterday. you can put it in most anything if you want but its a natural fit in the 9-10-1466

If you are going to use a DT 466 there is no difference whether you call it a 966 or a 1066. Since lighter is better I think a 660 with its planetaries would be strong enough and a little different. There was a article in the Hook how to make your 466 into a 640 or 650 They were using JohnDeere pistons and sleeves like from a 619. Seems like you have to machine the pistons a little because the combustion chambers are not in the same place. Then they offset ground the crank a little bit. Sounded cheap because used all stock pieces.
