We have cleaned hundreds of carbs. If it was our first I would question our ability

I too have rebuilt 100s of carb and not just tractor carbs. How ever that being said I have had a few that I could not rebuild and others that I gave up on and put aside for another day and some that I put aside where rebuild-able after they sat a cpu;e months and those I figure got dried out so dry the stuff that was clogging it turned to dust.

On a Ford carb I took apart too many times I spotted a dark spot up near the throttle plate. I bent a wire out of a brush at a 90 angle and lo and behold that little spot was a mid throttle fuel exit. Stubborn beats talent again. How did you prime it? Try pumping oil into the port where the oil press guage goes in might work. The pick up tube might need an O ring? I don't know any thing about your engine. just guessing. The fact that you got that ball of rust to do anything is admirable.

it runs good,on full choke......wife has been through the carb 3 times it's not blocked anywhere.....any other suggestions?

Did you look over the manifolds in terms of the “heat riser” section between the intake and exhaust looking for a breach between them? Might pull the carb and look up in there with a good flashlight and mirror. Only for certain way to check is to pull the manifolds and put water in one or the other to see it leaks through. This might be your problem instead of the carb.
A problem carb will separate “hole poker/gasket replacers” from the true “carburetor fixer” Understanding the theory and functions of All the circuits and passages in a carb is fundamental to making a problem carb run an engine correctly. I am linking a book on M/S carbs. I am not sure if it covers the model of carb you have there but the basic design of M/S updraft tractor carburetors is the same between them all. There is problem with the “Power Fuel Feed System” in your carb. That said focusing only on that section in the carb and referencing only that section of the manual would limit your chances of bolting a “fixed” carburetor back on your engine. One thing a lot of folks miss about the power circuit of these carbs is the reason for the series of holes along the power nozzle. The holes are “air bleeds”! Many don’t know that it is not straight fuel being fed into the air stream at the venturi by the power nozzle. The fuel coming up the power nozzle is well mixed fuel and air. Now I am not saying this is not happening in your carb and that is the problem. What I am saying is even though these carburetors are really very simple there is more to what is going on in the carb then the average person realizes.

I pressure washed the manifold and water only came out of the correct places . We will take another whack at the carb tomorrow. But we have to get oil pressure first

It's a marvel carb, it mates together good and tight

But did you check with a straight edge across the middles? They can be warped when the outside is still good and tight.

But no sense doing anything unless you have oil.
