Blue streak points

Since it sounds like it might be either, here are pictures of both, you can look in your distributor and should be able to tell for sure which you have before you purchase.

It will be interesting to hear the results.

Maybe I was wrong. Looking at years in catalog implied 77 and later.

It does give distributor numbers. Check # on yours

The same Ebay ad that I purchased from still lists them as FB 8081 XV. It even shows the end of the box part number as the same.

Luckily, I had a new set of Echlin points that I got prior to ordering those blue streak points so I installed the Echlin points and they are working fine. My 8N now will idle down to 400 rpm and just sit there chugging away now.
A year or two, while perusing Fleabay I ran into a lot of three sets of NOS Sorensen points. They are setting on a shelf waiting for my 10 year old BWD [standard brands] points to wear out. Sorensen was phased out years ago.

"Sorenson was phased out years ago".

On the contrary, it is still an active brand under the umbrella of SMP, (Standard Motor Parts).

While you're there, note all the other brands SMP has absorbed.

I used to use them all the time when I had a '48 Dodge truck and a '73 Ford truck. They were the best ones in my experience [nearly 50 years ago]. When I tried to get some,I was met with a confused look from the young parts Kid. I probably will never use all of the ones that I have, two sets of Fullwells and three Sorensens, both are old. I have been wrong before,I thought I was wrong, but I wasn't,haha.

Last time I went for points, at an O'Riellys, the parts kid didn't know what ignition points were!

Reviving an old post. For the Ford tractors, Blue streak isn't an option anymore.
For the side mount and 600-800 series
Fd8081 will be your Standard premium points.
FD8081T will be the Standard T series economy points.
I have the FD8081 in my 860, been in there about a year and a half, 65 hours on them and they are working well.
The rub block on the t series is cheaper plastic material and seems to wear faster.
