C2 Gleaner

So this gleaner that I can't drive.

I was reaching in the clutch housing cover trying to feel for what is and is not spinning (while I roll the variable pulley by hand). I found a few handfuls of grease.
I think that I must have over oiled the variable pulley inner zerk and that all went in on the clutch. I used 3 cans of brake cleaner and there is no longer any grease that you can feel, but ...
When I try to engage/disengage the clutch I hear a sound change and there is a bit of a change to the engine, but still no drive.
Any suggestions.
I put off tearing into things until I know I have to.

You might have torn the center out of the clutch disc.

If my old memory serves me right, taking the clutch housing off is not that big of a job. I pulled one in the early 70's at 8 in the morning, put in new bearings and was running before noon.

That's what one of my friends thinks.

Guess I'll find out as soon as I get some sockets big enough to take the wheel/tire off and out of the way.
One of the guys posting early on in my problem (back in early Sept) said that you have to loosen the transmission and jack it up about 4 inches so the clutch housing will clear the frame member. Looks like that's probably true, do you remember??

Don"t know about the C, but on an F you take out the frame bolts on the left side, jack up the FRAME 2 inches, and pull the assembly out. Dealer told me he learned that the hard way too.

u can get it out without taling the tire off I just did mine and it has 23.1 26s on it.
