hi guys i hope i m in the correct place here. i have a case 133 baler unsure of the exact year serthe neighbor gave it to me it s been sitting in the woods for about 40 years. and everything is still freely moving a little stiff but moves. the only thing i can find missing are the needles. (of course the most important part) does anyone have either the needles for sale? possibly a junkyard somewhere? or the dimensions of the needles by chance? or is there another series of baler that the needles would fit? i found a guy selling case 140 needles and he has several. would these fit? it s my first implement restoration and baler so i m wondering how the hell these needles arc and actually work with the knotters. any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I looked on the Case IH parts site and both the 130 and the 133 used part no. B1020 needles. I believe
those were the only side mount knotter balers but I could be wrong. We had a 133 and baled 10,000 plus
bales a year with it. Worked well but manual said 60 strokes of the plunger per minute and they meant it. I
remember 1 day my dad and I baled, stacked on wagons behind the baler and hauled home and stacked a little
over 1,000 bales.

Don't know if the 133 needles are the same as a Case 200 series baler or not, Probably not. Last time I checked with CI dealer they were over
200 each and that was over 20 years ago. The needle part # for 200 series needle is F 2526. Part # for 133 is FB1020 and it looks different
in the pics. check out this link

I should have several sets for a 133,, I will check and make 100% sure,, 200,220,230 and 330 needles are different than the 130/133 used, I will never use all the ones I have in three life times, I do run my 130 some every year, 2019 she baled about 450 straw bales and never missed a knot

if you would be able to sell any you might have, hell even one will do. something i can have for measuring even if i had to i really don t want to but if i have to i will lol. ive worked with OK foundry in virginia before they made a hub for my IH 505 hay rake i m restoring at the same time as this. those guys can make basically anything. (i m assuming these needles are cast?) i just can t do anything withought knowing how they move through there and what not. i m 21 and haven t dealt with much in terms of farm equipment until about 3 years ago i got a 57 f600 truck and an 8N restored em and have been hooked since now i m collecting anything and everything from the 30-70 s lol but any insight on these needles is greatly appreciated i will absorb any help or knowledge. thank you, john

Yes I will sell a set,, I may have both new old stock and welded ones done in a jig and are correct shape,, I will get up and get pics of what I have, I looked this past summer throught them for a set of wire tie needles which I do not have extra,, but twine ones I am sure I have a few sets I will sell, I may not get up today tot hat shed I am getting ready to start cooking dinner now,, if I am not to full I will get up there though if not in the morning

It had every bale it had made when I got it wrote on the tin with a pencil,, at the time it was just under 12,000 bales,, dates all wrote beside the numbers,, I have put another 1500-2000 through it,, it is like new really,, the man I bought it from had bought it a year old when the guy who bought it new traded for a new one the next season as he custom baled and traded every year, I also have this 140W that is nice also,, it has baled much more but still works flawless,

sickle bar mower and loader i still have most of the stuff all case

hey either one repaired or new is fine with me! (whichever is cheaper  ) i just wanna get it back to her former glory and usable and lookin as good as yours! lol i just can t stand seeing these old pieces rot away i m trying to save every bit of history i can. thank you so much for helping! i keep trying to put my email on here but it won t let me for some reason.

jbcww, take to heart what Danny K said and don't try to take it easy on it when you go to use it. Balers have that big heavy flywheel for a reason. If you run it slowly it is the same as cutting a third of that flywheel off and making the baler to compress the hay by torque instead of force.

Get a manual and set the baler up to
spec. Hate to see you break a new set
of needles due to misadjustment or
out of time

there is no plunger safety stop on a 130/133, besides it is not the plunger that breaks needles it is the hay hitting them being pushed by the plunger that breaks them,, the needles are in the plunger on every baler when it is tying,, but for sure the until needs to be properly timed,, easy enough to check before any hay is put into the machine the tips of the needles Have to enter the bale chamber After the plunger head has pasted point of needle entry into the chamber by approx 1 1/2",,, I will make sure both who want needles have the correct procedure to set/check timing so they do not have another issue

i did order a manual last night so i can hopefully get this beast going by spring or mid summer. i should hopefully have it ready for paint by the end of January. i have one gear that is missing a tooth on the top knotter assembly i had a new one of those cast so it should be here soon but the needles are all i need now. and it does have the PTO gearbox on it, so how big of a tractor will this baler need? by the way i ve never really been on a forum how do we properly exchange information so i don t get kicked off or something? or do i just put my info in here?

thanks, John

Here are four B1020 Case Twine needles I will sell, these are welded ones, 325.00 a pair plus what ever shipping is,, if you want only one they are 200.00 each plus shipping,, my email is open if you are interested,, I do not have any wire needles to sell sorry,, I do have a couple new and used ones that have not been welded I compared them to these all were fixed on a welding jig and they match the new ones,,

the box on the RH bottom of the screen should show "email open" send me one through it first then when I respond you will see my email as I do not like posting it for the spammers here that lurk, the engine on them if equipped was only 12 hp, so a tractor with 30- 45 hp and live power runs them well, a VA Series has the ponies but no live power but will work,, nice to have one with a good gear selection also as depending on the windrow you may need to feed it at a slower speed,,

I added my email for the other posters to contact me about TWINE needles I have told you a number of times I DO NOT have any wire baler needles to sell

I guess I will put these back on the shelf,, as it seems I am asking too much no problem they can go back,, with my other needle stock I have,, I was already in the shed so it was not a complete waste of my time

The neighboring farm had a Case 133 baler and what I remember the most was the ka-chunk ka-chunk noise it made while baling. I also remember it made good square bales with very few missed bales.
