I am working on my boss's old Case 580B. He believes it is a 188 motor. Serial number plate is unreadable but it matches all the diagrams in the shop manual.
He was running it and it shut down like it ran out of fuel. Trying to restart, it sounded like there was zero compression. He said it got hot and ran tough before it died. He was told headgasket was likely toast. I pulled the head. Gasket looks fine as well as the pistons and cylinders but...... 2 bent pushrods, #1 exhaust and #2 intake. And.... if I put a pushrod in each of the lifters and spin the motor, they dont move.
Plan is to pull the front cover and take a look but wanted to check with you here to see if maybe I am missing something?
