Case 310G transmission

My 310G keeps popping out of 3rd gear when driving. I have been holding it in
3rd gear with the shifter, to get back and forth to the woods quicker than 2nd.
What causes this to happen? I am now in the process of tearing it apart, my
question is do I need to take the differential apart to pull the gears out of
the transmission? From what I can see the lower shaft has to go out the back to
slide the gears off. At least thats what it looks like from studying the parts
manual. I have the shifting tower off and the back differential cover off. The
bearing covers on the front look to small to slide everything out the front. I
do not have a service manual, they are a bit pricey, if someone has the chapter
on the transmission, I would gladly pay for copying and shipping costs.

Search this forum, Someone here had the problem and if my memory is right just had 2 pull the shifter from the top of the trans to fix.

I have a crawler I may be parting out that will have that tranny, let me know if interested
