Hello,
Pretty new to the Fords. I have the lift cover off of my 800 and have gotten to the adjustment part. Ill be using the alternate method from FO-20 and I don't want to do that before I know this is right first........
Here is my problem. Looking at page 314 of my I&T FO-20 manual. I am trying to figure out if part #3 "spring seat" goes on top of, or under part #4 "seat support"?
Might seem simple, and I know they are arranged in that order in the diagram FO263, but neither way seems just right.
If I put the seat support down over the spring seat, it looks like it would just bend when the bolts are tightened. The new seat support won't go all the way down over the wide end of the spring seat where the felt appears to go. Should it?
On the other hand, If I assemble it with the spring seat sitting on top of the thin metal spring seat support, it still doesn't seem just right. That big ol spring and seat snugged up against that thin metal spring seat support.
Appreciate a little confirmation.
Thanks!!!
Larry W.
