EV tractor sales

"Fordism" was a thing.

Henry Ford's philosophy of thrift and utility was, like you said, instrumental in actually making an economic case for the car, in lieu of the horse. He wanted people to be able to economically fix their cars. He wanted parts to be interchangeable for many, many years. He wanted the jobs of building cars to build communities and support families.

This is a very stark contrast, on many fronts, to how the EV is being introduced. (And, for that matter a very stark contrast to current ICE vehicles as well.)
It is called the assembly line.

Maybe it was all the global .gov regulations mandating emissions reductions pushing little guys out thereby creating markets for hypercost emissions compliant autonomous tractors only affordable to megabucks corporate ag companies?
But why would JD build it when it is not possible that anyone, especially the megabucks corporate farms who get best pricing on what ever they want, would buy it.

Well... where I do much of my work on the farm, they would at least need some different footwear...
they have their 'top men' working on some prototypes.

perhaps to one day export... to some future friendly nation-states... get em hooked on that electric syrup 🦹‍♂️

or better yet----- they know the product and program is cow poopoo-- but-- a big double wide--- but-- the people working on said programs are of interest--- the people at the helm want to see how far the intel ant trail goes... maybe even pickup some new tech based on where it leads back to-- heheh... yes... 🗃️

A machine like that doesn't have to be electric, they could use the biodiesel made from canola oil instead of battery powered. Seems that canola oil is only good for diesel fuel anyway. Then they could use the autonomous canola fired tractor to prepare the field to convert solar energy into canola, process the canola into oil, build more machines to grow more canola. Get .gov grants, a win win all round. The useless cycle repeats, job are created, crops are grow, technology advances, taxes are paid, regulations created, factories built and no one gets their hands dirty. The so called farmer sits at their laptop and juggles futures contracts. Scratch that, the AI juggles the books and futures contracts, you need do nothing at all. Bit o sarcasm.

I tried to support bio when it first came out.... but the substantially higher price limited me to one load. Bio doesn't seem to be the answer either.

So now I'm going to drive tractors 1-30 miles to recharge them each night for the next days use. Ha that is not even a close to practical idea. And where does the power come from to make the electricity at the power plant. Seems to me it was oil or coal untill they decided to eliminate the coal. Now they can't even keep up with demand with all the windmills running along with what is left of the old coal plants. Nuc was the best bang for the buck in electricity production. Those all got scrapped with Three Mile Island in the 70's. There is not a practical method with windmills to keep enough production to supply demand now. And what a waste of good ground for them with the roads they put in and waste fro the big driveways to them and all. All in the name of something that doesn't exist. Follow the money and you will find it is all nonsense. Just a scam to blow a lot of taxpayer money to control what you do and use.

According to reports of the day, we hit peak oil around 1970ish, and have been increasing that BPD total ever since.
Exactly. Peak oil was a complete hoax that was used to push prices up that peaked summer of 2008. Recently Ukraine war came along and did the same thing. Oil will continue to go down and up with scare tactics. Here’s what you need to know: Microsoft purchased the 3 mile island nuclear power plant. Why? The answer tells you everything. Constant power. No batteries, no solar, no wind. Oh my. All that is for chumps. Oh my.

I've welded for over half a lifetime, so I'm fascinated/appreciative of the process that provides the raw materials.

These are 2 of my favorite videos. They did a marvelous job making these. I believe these shops are long gone, not sure.

Maybe 60yrs ago, I can remember, as a little boy, travelling with my parents through the Gary area. You'd see the old B model Macks on the highway with a single coil on the trailer. The company names were on the vertical plate on the front bumper that a lot of the old Macks seemed to have back in the day. The air was orange tinted, and every road sign was corroded. I never felt so much in awe in my lifetime. Later in life I trucked through the Rust Belt hauling boxed beef out of the plants in Garden City. It was depresing to think of what was.

I don't have a window in my shop (obviously:)) so I made my own window to the world. ROFLMAO

Works for me....................... LOL
Cool, a nation being built.

It is called the assembly line.
The assembly line was attributed to Ford, but it was a small part of "Fordism."

Fordism had many spectacular successes, such as the growth of Detroit.

It had many spectacular debacles, such as the abandoned Fordlandia project.

He was a complex and interesting person.

The prices had to go up due to higher costs of production. It is no longer Jed Clampet's bubbling up out of the ground. All of the costs, including exploration, production and refining are increasing much faster than what the price of oil products will support. This is why North Dakota oil cycles between boom and bust. The oil companies are reluctant to sell at prices below their cost of production.

So... I smell quite a bit of what you're stepping in here. I have a friend that calls the US a "baitball economy" We are treated like a massive baitball that the corporations herd us into by using media and influence...

move here for the good jobs...

no, wait a minute... move there for the good jobs...

buy margarine...

I mean... buy butter

get a little car because gas prices are up

no wait... they're down... buy a big truck...

But anyway, one of the driving forces behind Microsoft's need for Three Mile Island is this...

Artificial Intelligence is extremely inefficient, with respect to power. A human mind runs on 60watts of renewables. The last time I saw a comparison, it took AI 1.5Megawatts to play the Korean board game called "go" against a human mind.

The best thing for the environment and the future? Use your brain. Starve the AI. Or at least get AI applied to problems that will help humans, as opposed to managing us like a baitball...

All sounds good to those who have it stuck in their emotional heads . That the world will end in 20 years if ICE are not banned . Those same people are also quick to tell you how they personally saved the world .

As I have stated herein previously, nuclear power is returning after an ill-advised generation plus of knee-jerk hysteria.

Sadly, in the world in which we live, it will likely take more than 10 years to bring a large-scale plant online.

Small modular plants should take considerably less time.

The current plan, or lack thereof, is unsustainable, and the pendulum has already reversed.

Stay tuned.
