When we got married in 73 my father-in-law gave us and old A, cracked block and a few other minor problems, but I got it going and built a snowplow for it. It was pretty useful, we even leveled the dirt around the new house we built, but I can't find any pictures of it.

An A tractor is how I learned to drive tractors back in the 60's as a kid. Our's had a working exhaust lift so we had cultivators that used that. I have an A now as part of my 12 tractors. Its still handy to move things around and any trailing implements that it can pull. My almost 2 year old grand son loves sitting on it and taking a ride on it. I didn't have it in time for my sons to use it to learn to drive a tractor (they had to settle for my H to learn) but I'm betting my grandson will use it to learn to drive a tractor when he finally grows enough to reach the pedals.

Wanna come to Michigan for one? A guy stopped in the other morning and asked if I knew anybody who wants one. His grandpa bought it new. He said he restored it in the 80s. They used it a couple of times windrowing beans and hauled a little bit of manure with it when the kids had 4H pigs. He said it just sits in the barn and needs a new home.

Better run the math. Sometimes old tractor math just does not come out the same. One over aggressive DOT guy could really bite into that 1800.

If you're interested, I can give you his name and address. I don't have his number, but I know him well. I bought a tractor, grinder mixer and blower at his dad's auction and my one owner 66 from the farm across the road from his dad's place. He's only about four miles from me. For several years, his dad farmed with that A and a new Oliver 1600.

I'm 99% sure we are not going to drive up there. I don't think my insurance would cover the trip. But if we change our plans I will reach out.
