I have a 1978 Ford 420 Industrial Tractor with factory Ford Front End Loader 735 component # 19-638 with a bad Right bucket cylinder. It leaked and was not a simple fix of the seals. It leaked because abuse led to bent rod and damaged gland and nut. So I could keep tinkering with the tractor till I find another matching cylinder, or the money to fix the original one I have I put a bypass hose on it. I know it is not a permanent solution and I don't even want to use the bucket portion of the FEL until it's fixed right, but I still need to use the lift portion to get the bucket off the ground to use the tractor. My question at the moment is - am I doing any damage to the pump, cylinders, or any other vital structures by running it this way?
Thanks in advance!
