Ford 6610 - what is this knob for?

It's on the right hand side of the transmission housing, next to the diff lock pedal. It pulls in and out but not sure what it's supposed to do - is it a flow control thing for carrying objects on the 3-point hitch when on the road, for example?

Edit, is it an ASC (auxiliary service control) valve?

That was kind of a neat feature on the small old tractors using 2 bottom plows.

Once we got over 50hp I wonder if 10% of that setup ever got used on a tractor? Ford was pretty proud of the
design of it and kept it as a feature for a long time, used or not.

Load Monitor was never used on anything under 50HP. It was only available on 4-cyinder tractors. It was optional on the 5000-6610 models, and standard on the 7000-7710 models.
