My dad has an old Ford 860 or 861, I don't remember which. He said he is thinking of selling it. The tractor ran good up until last fall. He went to start it one day and the battery was dead (again) because the key had been left on (again). He hooked the jumper cables to it backwards and let the magic smoke out. I need to haul it to my shop and see what it burned up and get it running.
Anyway, I was wondering about what he should ask for it when I get it running again. The tractor is in good shape mechanically. It could stand painting, but doesn't look bad and isn't rusted. Tires are good except for one of the rear tires that is dry rotting and needs to be replaced.
Anybody have an idea of what it should realistically be worth? I hate to ask too much, but also want to help him get as much as possible for it.
