Ok I would like some advice on getting my rear hub off of my 48 8n. I have a 10 ton gear puller, have tried driving with the center but nut will not loosen I have heated it up and been hitting with a sledge. Will not come loose. The other side fell off so I replaced the hub, this side wont budge, any advice would be appreciated, replacing oil seal src=https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cvphotos/cvphoto101350.jpg>

I use the old style brake drum puller used on the older cars and trucks that had tapered axles and the drums pressed on. It bolts on the lugs and has a handle that you hit with a sledge hammer.

(quoted from post at 16:03:32 09/17/21) Is this the puller type you are talking about?

I doubt your are gonna do much better with another puller unless you rigged up are made a special puller for it. I have destroyed the puller you are asking about in the link on a N axle : ( I have bent better puller arms on the same job.

In my 25 ton press pix I had to heat the hub GOOD let it set over night and press on it again the next day. Tight is good : )

So your advice is get a press to press it out, instead of trying another
puller. Thanks for the feedback

asiest one I ever removed. It hadn't been on the tractor long enough to get rusty & installed @ 450 ft-lbs torque. Chinee iron.. guess it is like their concrete.....full of dirt.

That's the style I have. I think mine is a SnapOn or Bluepoint.

Thanks to all those that responded. I ended up getting a 20 ton press. Was a little disappointed when i pulled the whole thing and it didnt pop right off. I heated cooled and repeated. I let it soak last night in oil. This morning I put it back in press and reheated. Still nothing so I ended up, while it was under pressure I hit the shaft with my sledge and it sounded off like a gun shot. After several days of trying success. It was was very rusty. I will clean up parts and put it back together.
