Ford Industrial tractor identification

Hello-

Can someone identify what Ford Industrial tractor I am looking at buying? Stamping on transmission housing near starter has two sets of numbers.

Top number is 41401S
Bottom number is 31398

Can anyone pinpoint year and model, I think it is a 4000 series heavy duty industrial. Has a front end loader and backhoe. Where can I find the model of the backhoe and loader? Are they stamped like the tractor or do they have a tag somewhere? Thanks for any help in advance!

here's what I came up with -

40401S

4**** - 172 ci gas, LP-gas or 172 ci diesel engine
*1*** - Industrial and agricultural models produced after 1963
**40 * - Heavy duty industrial tractor w/sub frame
*0**1 - Four-speed w/o PTO or hydraulics
-S - Sherman transmission

1963 Serial number 11948 - 38930

Thanks for the info! This one does have a pto and the 3 point arms, which is strange.

3 point lift and PTO could have been added by the dealer or by a previous owner, or by swapping out the rear half of the tractor.

JoeM-

Thanks for the info! Mine is a gas engine. Can someone explain to me what the Sherman transmission option does for this model? Is it simply a high and low range selector? I did see a lever on side of transmission by clutch pedal.

Also, can anyone give me an approximate weight of the 1963 Ford 4140 tractor with front end loader, bucket, and backhoe attachments? I am thinking somewhere around 8000 pounds? Thanks in advance!

Hello Jesse , The last digit 1 in the model number
means it came from the factory WITH 3 point and
PTO nothing strange about it everyone of my Heavy
Duty Industrials have 3 point and Pto and backhoes
and Elenco 4x4 kits . Many did not have them but
many did . Thanks Tony
