A few years ago I needed a new 5 gallon gas can. I ended up with one of those awful EPA approved non vented gas cans, you know the ones that take two hands to handle (that could be an ADA law suit waiting to happen) and leak fuel all over the place? The ones with the little hook n the side of the spout you hook on the fuel tank to push the collar over the spout back opening up the nozzle to let gas out? Well the other day the darn thing was leaking more than usual and I get to checking it out, seems the stupid plastic ring that goes around the spout cracked, probably from all the weight on the end of the nozzle needed to keep the stupid nozzle open. I go to buy a replacement nozzle, seems you can buy regular cans again AND the diameter and threads on the ECO safe gas can are different than the regular ones so you can't ruin the environment by putting an old style nozzle on it and they don't sell a new replacement nozzle ECO safe pre-leaking nozzles. SO I have a gas can less than 3 years old heading to the landfill after dumping about 50 gallons of gas on the ground in the course of it's life-but hey we saved the environment so it's okay.
