bought a gasket (cork)for my sediment bowl,9n front diss,do i have to soak in gas before putting on?

I do. Otherwise, it leaks until it finally seats.

I have never had the cork type leak but then I do install them on most turn the gas on and start the engine right away so it gets hit by gas right off the bat and then running so it has little if any time to leak
