I am working on this 28 GP and the valves apear to be at a slight angle relative to the front , head side of the block, and even the crankside if that helps. I,m Not talking about the valve seat I mean the entire valve , the steam and all. Anybody know this angle so I can set the mill to recut the seats ?

Since they typically used a hand-held Black and Decker unit to grind those in the good old days, best bet today would be to fit a known true, straight rod into one guide at a time and take some readings over say, a 4" run from a precision right angle. Average them out to get the setting. That would get you very, very, close, I would think.

The valve seat angle is 45 degrees. The entire valve set up in the block may be canted down slightly.

He's using a milling machine so he won't be able to use a mandrel in the guide. Dealers used to cut those seats with a cutter kit and just a hand powered cranking handle. The kit was AD-978. Grind the valves, cut the seats, lap them together. Kind of like working on a lawn mower engine.
