yep, i remember going with dad to buy gas in barrels, was 11.00 in the 1960's. now this fall i was buying it in barrels for 250.00.

There was a gas war going on. Remember those?
Price went down to 20 cents/gal at one place and I went with Dad to get a barrel full.
That would have been summer of 1969. We had just moved onto Grandpa's farm.
I just looked it up on an inflation calculator.
$.20 in 1969 = $168 today. Still cheap.
Edit: forgot the decimal point. Should be $1.68

I just stick a couple broken rake teeth in beside the bar and turn it with another bar to loosen bungs in oil barrels. I have aos used a set of slipjoint pliers with the jaws stuck in and twisted them open. I've never had a bung wrench.
