My brother in law just made me an incredible deal on his brand new Kinze 3500 planter and Landoll 2630 Field Cultivator. The planter has never been to the field. It"s an 8 row 30 w/7 pushers, monitor, finger pickup, & fancy bean meters. It"s not a vacuum planter. My main question is how much horsepower I"ll need to pull it. My farms are rolling clay/loam hills. I do some no-till. I"m not looking to set any speed records, so I"m hoping to put the duals on the 8700 and plant with it. Thoughts? I"m not even sure if I"ll need a 3rd set of remotes - pretty early into the deal. Also, the Landoll is a 20", but it"s heavy built. Thinking it may work my TW35 if I run very deep. Anyone have any thoughts? Why"s he selling? My father-in-law died last Jan and mother-in-law sold out in March. Feel bad for bro-in-law - he was doing all the farming. He and his dad bought these 2 items just before his dad died. They hadn"t even been delivered yet. Randy ran the field cultivator over about 300 acres & that"s it. Called me Friday and made me a deal I couldn"t refuse.
