Hupp Over/Under

TO30 rebuild up-date...
Determined where the hyd. leak is... Where cyl. mounts to top cover, some genius put the oring & the gasket in there. That is not a good way.
Also I went to my local Ford/Ferg salvage yard 2day. Guy there told me that the lever shown in att. image is for Hupp over/under. Says that when you pull the shaft OUT it shifts into creeper. I cannot get that to happen. He gave a copy of a data sheet for the Hupp that swows where 2 diff. models were available. The D59 & D-59-2. The 59 has .528 underdrive & the 59-2 has .7 under. Is there more info available on this unit? Search on here came up empty. Olso wonder if there is any way to flush the oil out of this unit since I have the system empty now. Any help/advise is greatly appreciated. KB

The only way you can drain the Hupp unit is to split the tractor at the clutch. If you pull out, away from the trans on the handle about where it is in the picture (neutral) then pull it up like you do to get to overdrive it should go into underdrive it isn't really a creeper gear but gives you 1 lower gear and ones in between the original gears as well as slowing the PTO to 540 at nearly full throttle

You have to pull the shaft out then pull up
to shift to under. Take care...to not force the shifter when shifting the HUPP is prone to lock-up especially in low range...if it happens the tractor must be splitted to repair. When in neutral just release the clutch a bit and push it down to permit gear meshing.
