My '51 N starts and runs perfectly. The distributor assembly and all internals, coil, plugs, etc. are all brand splinter new parts. The carb has been overhauled and the fuel tank cleaned.
Only one problem continues to rear its ugly head - at idle, the exhaust note gives the occasional odd miss or bubble - almost like it's runbning too lean - which it's not. I've checked the entire intake circuit for leaks with propane, and nothing shows up.
I can get this engine to idle well gelow 400 rpm. It ticks off just like a good Ford flathead should - except for the occasonal exhaust blurb.
Any of you wise men ever find a solution for this nagging little problem? Sure runs sweet. Wish I could just get it to even out a little better.
