I have a stuck clutch. Is there any way to free the clutch without splitting the tractor?? It happenened when we were pulling it. Any comments would be helpful It is a 1965 nodel.

Define "pulling it"...

Tractor pull?

Pull-starting it?

Pulling it 20 miles down the road with a semitractor?



Define "stuck"...

Can't depress pedal?

Pedal is depressed and won't come up?

Pedal feels normal and clutch won't disengage?

Pedal feels normal and clutch won't engage?


Anyhow, most likely the answer will be the same... you will have to split it for an up-close "look-see".

Just a guess without any good information like Bob says, you broke a clutch operating bolt. Pedal feels almost normal,but the clutch doesn't disengage ?

if you where pulling it with tractor in gear and pedal down,my gues,pilot brng seized.

Thanks for the info on the 4020. We were pulling the tractor from the neighbors house to my house and lost the clutch. That is the clutch did not return once the pedal was puched in, like you are continuously holding in the clutch...........probably right the throw-out bearing has seized up.....we will split the tractor to see what is going on..thanks again,,,,,Jim from Clayton, Indiana
