John Deere Vintage Fuel Tank

I recently acquired a John Deere fuel tank. This tank is 12" in diameter and 16" long with large embossed JD letters on each end of the tank. I'm trying to determine what this tank fits. Any help would be appreciated!

I have seen those in books and 1 in person on an engine in the weeds. I think they came off early combines and or maybe balers ?
I think the engine name just came to me. Lycoming IIRC.
