This is not a tractor,it is in a Cushman 3 wheel turf truck as in golf course type equipment. I use it when picking up limbs and etc around the property so I can mow with my John Deere 650 Compact Diesel tractor and 5 ft. Mott Flail mower. So it makes it easier to use the tractor. The engine in question is a Kohler Model CH- 18-S -spec# 62534. The S/N is-3005218941. I parked it about 6 weeks ago when I finished using it and came back 2 days ago and it will not crank. It has run sort of rich for the last few times I used it. There is gasoline going to the carb. and will wet the plugs. In checking for spark, I have no spark at either new plug with both of them grounded to the block. I disconnected the kill switch wire and still no spark. After some scuffling I got the engine flywheel shrouding removed and exposed the 2 electronic ignition modules I disconnected the kill switch wire at the coil and still no joy. I cleaned the light coat of rust off the magnet and the module lamination and then checked the gap, it was a good .010 between the module. The magnet will snatch my screwdriver from 1/2" away. Still no spark. I checked the coils for cracks and etc, but none visible. I do not have any specs for checking the coil ohms. Can anyone tell me the procedure of how to check them. It seems strange that both sides would quit at the same time. Most of the electronic things like this are either good or bad, no in between or advance warning of failure either. If it requires new units, where is the most reasonable place to purchase them,Amazon maybe? Suggestions? Thanks for any help.
