lawn mower coil.

I believe I need a coil for the lawn mower. No spark and no spar with kill wire disconnected. With an Ohm Meter I get about 1500ohms from the end of the plug wire where the plug would attach to the base of the coil and to the kill wire connection but an open circuit or no reading across the base to the kill connection. I also need some other work but first things first. With no spark it does not matter if I'm getting fuel or not yet. Then I'll worry about the fuel issue. I hate gas engines.

I had a twin cylinder that was running terriblelly. I accidentally tested the coil output with my fingers, I found out which one was working. Replaced the coil, all was/is well. gobble

CG, it wouldn't have cost you a single cent more to post some details, a simple walk-behind mower or rider, one or two cylinders, points or EI, and engine make and model!

Go to Amazon, ignition coils are cheap. This is an example. Coils for other engines too.

SRUN 2-PACK 592846 Ignition Coil Module For Briggs and Stratton 691060 799651 Replace John Deere MIA12346 LG691060 18-22HP Engines,ZF-IG-A00052V $16.99

Wore out you are right except I don't know what model engine nor the size just a single cylinder push mower. I do know it is not a BS engine. I believe I was told it was a Kohler when I bought the mower .Can't prove that at this time. I can't say if it has points or not.I have not found a set just the coil bolts on like most do and shims out from the flywheel so I'm going with an EI set up fo a guess. I hate these things. As for the Amazon deal I can count on my one hand how often I have used them and still have 3-4 finger left. I hate that evil outfit also. So with all this I'm not sure what engine it has. I do know it was one of those cheap farm store models so probably some foreign thing. I doubt Kubots has a push mower with a diesel and would be kind of a waste to put a good diesel on something that will be shot other wise long before the engine would be done in. As for posting pictures that is above my pay grade.

We usually get packages every day from Amazon. Yesterday we got 3.
Each too their own. Love or hate Amazon, it is a free country.
I just bought $200 in Amazon gift cards today. I'm going to try an over the counter hearing aid that I can't buy at a hearing aid store locally. If it doesn't work, Free return shipping.

A photo of the engine would be helpful.

Cat guy, don't order a cheap Amazon coil. If the cheap coils are anything like their cheap chicom carburetors, you'll be sorry.

Let's find out the engine and get the right coil because 1500 ohms is probably too low.

I put a china carb on my Farmall C last year. ZERO problems.
I bought a new China Carb for my portable generator, ZERO problems and it has a fuel mix screws to adjust the carb.
A few years ago I put a china carb on my weed Wacker. Again NO problems.
If you do have a problem with anything off AMAZON, free return shipping. What do you have to lose???
First you have to find what engine you have.
Milwaukee tools are considered the best. Guess what, they are made in CHINA>
What isn't made in China?

You can tell if it has points by the single wire coming out of the coil. If it goes to a switched ground (ignition) , it is solid state module.

By disconnecting it, you have run every test possible. Most likely the trigger module failed but that is internal and can't be tested.

Cut a strip 1/2" wide from a pop can to set the replacement module. Pull away from the flywheel as far as possible and tighten 1 screw. Position the magnets and your strip of pop can under the module, loosen the screw and let the magnet pull it home. Tighten the screws and remove the strip. You should now have spark before hooking up the kill wire.

Bought 3 modules for a Kohler ,( from DB Electrical) for $16 dollars and none of them worked. Had to bite the bullet and pay a little over a hundred for genuine Kohler.

Don't know how old your mower is, but Briggs has been no points since 1980.

Dude Amazon doesn't have free returns for everything and everything has timelines. Amazon has free returns for prime members with prime items for a certain length of time. Amazon has free returns for items fulfilled by Amazon for a certain length of time. Third party sellers do whatever they want.

We get it you love Amazon and cheap chinese crap. That's you. You buy what you like. Lots of good stuff is made in China, like the Milwaukee tools you mentioned. But most of those generic carbs and electronics are trash, just like the crappy carburetor of which you recently posted pictures. Guess you haven't had zero problems.

The carb I posted was the original carb off a champion generator, a china made generator.
I now drain all the gas and the replacement carbs work just fine.
Each to their own. Like or hate Amazon, That is your choice. There are many things I buy off Amazon I can't buy locally.
I have bought earbuds that Bluetooth to my phone. They work great. I keep a pair of earbuds in my Kubota and one next to my recliner. I can listen to Pandora and talk on the phone with them. I can answer phone calls while driving my tractor. So much for you calling China electronic devices junk.
My best electronic EVM is from China.
Let's just agree, we will never agree that all China made items are junk,

For clarity for you- go back and reread what I said. I agree with what I've said.

Why do you keep shoving Amazon down everyone's throat like you are the majority stock holder? When people tell you that they will not waste money buying the cheap garbage they sell. You act like they hurt your feelings. 😥 Some of us do not care for spending $100 worth of short life or non working garbage chinese parts when a $80 factory part would have fixed it right the first time.

Cat guy. What is the brand of the mower? Husqvarna used 7.5 HP Kohlers on some of there push mowers. Also some Cub Cadet and Lawnboys used a 6.5 HP Kohler.
Majority of Kohler push mower engines will have a yellow oil fill cap.

Don't know for sure on engine make. IT was one of those no brand cheap mowers the Farm store sells. Probably the sales person I talked to didn't know either and just came up with Kholer. It's a single cylinder push mower. It has a huayi is the brand of carb on it .I am going to take a stab and say that may be the same for the engine on it. One of those fix speed engines. Has the lever you hold it on then let go and it dies and stops both with the kill switch/ brake on it. As I said earlier pictures are above my pay grade. I have not found a brand nor any numbers on the engine just a sticker that says Pulsar or something like that for the mower brand. Like I said just a cheap farm store mower. Probably already discontinued model. that is my usual luck on things like that. And I wouldn't have a BS engine shoved you know where. All engines If I had control would be diesels and problem solved.

I would disagree with your last sentence, but only because of my lack of knowledge about diesels. And like you said, a diesel push mower would be a total waste of a good engine. steve

Here is what I have for pictures at this time .Will try to get some more later today for it. Need to check if I can spray right now. Might be to wet to go.
