looking for diff actuating rod part # 2N400B/C5NN 65 Ford 3000

2N400B/C5NN does not appear to be a valid part number for any part for any model of Ford tractor. Any part number that starts with 2N was originally designed for the N series of tractors (9N/2N/8N). C5NN is the prefix for a large number of different part numbers for parts that were originally designed in 1965 which might have been used in tractors made in that year and some parts used up to possibly at least the mid-80's or possibly later.

Are you asking about the external linkage rod with the clevis for the locking differential or about the rod that goes through the axle housing to actuate the differential locking mechanism on the inside?

The external linkage rod with the clevis is part number E4NN4N093BA. The rod that goes through the axle housing to actuate the differential locking mechanism on the inside is part number E197EB9. The bushings for both ends of part number E197EB9 are part number E192EB9, and the plug for the bushing toward the rear of the tractor is part number E193EB9. Those bushings and plugs appear to still be available from New Holland, and at very reasonable prices. $0.24 for the plug and $0.29 each for the bushings. The other parts appear to be no longer available new.

Here is a Link to parts diagram for differential lock linkage parts for a 3000

tractor-part.com is a web site that can search the databases of a large number of tractor salvage yards and it shows that both of those no-longer-available-new part numbers are available at several salvage yards:

tractor-part.com search for E4NN4N093BA

tractor-part.com search for E197EB9

You should contact the individual salvage yards to confirm that they still have the part(s) in stock and the condition of the part(s) before ordering.
