Thank You very much for all of the recommendations. It ended up being the condenser but I replaced the points as well. The two old guys at the dealership kind of pondered over it for a few minutes as I think I forced them to pull out some info that they hadn't used in some time. LOL
I paid a little more for the parts but I needed to get the tractor ready to go the county fair. I drove in the opening ceremonies parade today and it didn't miss a beat. It was the first event that I had been to with it since I painted it and it got a lot of looks and many liked it.

Thanks to all the help with this whole project as my eventual goal was to get this tractor up to the fair and I finally got it this year.

If anybody goes to the Boone County Fair, in Indiana, be sure to leave me a note in the toolbox. It is the 1937 JD A from Zionsville, IN with the chrome stack. I put a link to a slideshow of pictures.

Thanks

I've got my Oliver 1800 over at the Hendricks County Fair... just south of you.

Will you be attending the Indiana State Fair with your tractor? I intend to take a '49 Farmall H that I'm in the process of getting cosmetically restored (it only needs some minor mechanical stuff along with).

It's usually a pretty good show and having a tractor there gives the family an excuse to make it to the state fair.

Nice looking for an Ugly Green Thing. wish i could get my Case LA painted up like that.
