Massey 44

At a recent antique tractor pull I attended, there seemed to be in inordinate amount of MH model 44 tractors entered. Even
more than the poor-mans IHC M. Why are they so popular? I have a none running but not stuck 44 narrow front with good rear
tires. Maybe I need to get it running????

I have a 44 that used to pull a lot I'd like to sell, owner I got it from added a four speed transmission ahead of the stock five speed the tractor has. Gave him a LOT of gear choices that way.

them massey 44 specials and 444 always seamed to outdo the ihc's. i have pulled my 444 and it does pretty good.

That must have ended up an interesting build DT .... did he fabricate an extension to the front tub or something to squeeze that in?
