So background is its a 1965 MF 202. The alternator quit on me a month or so ago and since then I have tried two different alternators with no luck. The one alternator was a CS130 wired in 2 and 3 wire setups. The one today is a 10si single wire that I had to rig up to secure the top, but the belt was tight and still didn't charge.
I'm attaching pictures of the original alternator that I can't read the part number off of as a reference. It had the red wire from the 4 pin tied into the charge lug of the alternator along with the main battery feed and the ignition wire off the tractor ignition went to the brown or brown/white wire on the 4 pin. As y'all can see the original is secured at 12 oclock and 4-5 oclock.
The white wire coming off the tractor is to the battery and the black is ignition.
For the single wire alt. its secured at 12 and 6 oclock. I was able to secure the 6 oclock and rotate the top to the steering post and temporary secure with bailing wire. I only connected the main white battery wire to the alt lug. Still it didn't charge.
I'm at a loss of what to try and have searched the forums for an answer with no luck.
YT sales have an alternator with the ears at 12 and 6 oclock that they claim works for the MF202, but the sales guy had no idea when I called them today.
The alt that YT sells is the ADR0382.
