New Avery update

The outside cleaned up nice, maybe too nice for "used red" 😜. The motor ain't pretty. Several gallons of water in the oil pan. But by the end of the day we had the head ( sheet metal, gas tank, alternator, oil filter housing, air breather, carb , manifold and upper radiator hose had to come off,too ) and oil pan off and the pistons out. Bearings and rings look decent at first glance, obviously we haven't had time for a close inspection. None of the valves would move at first, plenty of Free-All and they all came open 😲. We will keep spraying and tinkering with them,I believe they will be ok. We will hone the cylinders today and figure out what parts we need to order. We do enjoy a good challenge. Hopefully any naysayers will just enjoy my update. The oil pan , valve cover and manifold gaskets were missing, just a huge glob of orange gasket goop.🤬. Crazy stuff you find. No matter what parts we buy new or reuse, whatever work we do, we will fully disclose to anyone who buys this tractor......if we sell it 😜

That had to be a fairly resent internal flooding. I don't see the pitting normally found when flooded for years. Have you checked the cylinder bore for out of round? I would love to see the valve seats after the valves have been removed. What did the bearing shells look like. Just wondering what condition it was in when retired to window dressing.

We have found a broken valve spring, possible that's why it was parked? Everything else is looking good.
