Hi folks,
I'm the shipyard documentarian at Mystic Seaport Museum & we have a new in the crate Ex-Cell-O fuel pump. This had been delivered to the Navy base in Middletown RI, probably in the 40's & eventually wound its way to us. We don't have any engines that would need this, and are looking to get this to someone who might need / want it. We believe that this pump was used with Buda engines, probably marine, in the 40s but I can't find any definitive examples.
Since Buda was acquired by Allis Chalmers I thought it might be appropriate to post this here.
There is also evidence that these pumps were used in early Continental aircraft engines, but again, we don't have exact model number matches for this.
If you have any leads for either our research or to help us connect this pump to the proper person, it would be much appreciated. We're not looking to make money on this, just to connect a pristine part with the right party.
Fuel Injection Pump
Unit No. 9H16528
Type PA1267
Style L5851
Thanks, Tom
