Here is Jacob. first visit with the New Veterinarian last wed. Checked out with great results. Got him insured in case some misfortune drops a bomb . When we lost Chino, it damn well
came close to break us . Now with information we got from the new vet, we found that to vet services who failed miserably as they was incorporated and run out of state, to determine what was going on with him. There was no need to loose him if only the vet would have xrayed him sooner when we ask her if the growth was cancerous. When we went to see the new Man vet, I made it clear and in no uncertain terms, Jake was NOT to be guessed at if any problems came up. His reply was to my liking, "If there is a problem I don't have an answer to, he goes to the hospital in Minn.".We wont take any chances with our new family member. Pictures will do much of our new pal. He puts the run on Casey,(daughters cat) and has a ball doing it.well here we go with the pictures. Hope you enjoy em. Regards LOU ,Victor and all our family.

donjr,
Yep they all have that innocent look. Sort of like,"Wasn't me, I didn't do it." LOL. We're keeping a folder on him, along with a cd for records. The new vet seems to be a nice guy,but time will tell. We found some garlic spray for the yard for mosquitos and tick, etc, a little expensive, but if it works it's well worth it. Benefits both pets and humans both, and no chemicals. Called Mosquito Barrier. The customer reviews are all positive, 1 gallon concentrate covers 5 acres,so it should last us all spring and summer to fall for next year.Might look into for puppies, farm animals and even for humans, non toxic to animals, even repels deer, armidillos and some more things. Thanks for the reply give our best to Jakie.
Regards,
LOU

I think your old vet, who you originally liked, sent you off to a "specialist" because they didn't want to be the one to tell you your dog had a major medical issue, especially since they originally told you it wasn't that serious. You would think a vet would be professional enough to give the straight answer instead of passing you off to another vet but I guess even some professionals don't like to be the bearers of bad news.

Dave,Thanks for the reply. The vet (lady) was a replacement vet who left to go to South America to teach . The lady vet was sort of new to the clinic so when the swelling was first noticed like a small sebaceous cyst showed up on his right side I had Victor take him in to have the vet take a look see. she was asked if it could be a cancerous growth starting. She visually looked, her reply was NO( No x-ray was taken). sure as he-- was. Now that could have been treated (Lymphosarcoma coupled with blastomycosis. all treatable over in Minn.90% rate of cure, but because of her inept experience,we lost a very good friend, and family member.
When we first started at the local vet clinic, it was privately owned, sometime later (unbeknown to us) it was sold to a Corporation. They had the X-ray machine there, could have done that diagnosis, and we would have drove to Mn, to start the treatment to save him. Our locals here are not to my opinion worth going to for even a case of pink eye treatment,so we talked to alot of breeders(well known) and asked for their opinion and information,so this will never happen to one of our friends again. I will not try to explain all the troubles we went thru with both the local vets here, just say inept is putting it mildly.Just say we will do everything possible to let other local people here know about our experience here, and not recommend the local vets here to friends and acquaintances, who love their pets.
In Mn. they have the highest quality of vets around, its a full hospital, with qualified vets for every breed of canine.Have different sections for cats, cattle, horses, sheep etc, all separate, but in one area.Plus latest equipment, and diagnostic procedures. That is where we will go if our new (male) vet doesn't know. That's his promise not to guess, and our promise to our new friend if in doubt of the new vets diagnosis. It will become a need to know basis and we need to know. Thanks again for your reply,
LOU

Tony, Thanks for your post.Yep he knows home for sure. When he has to go, he runs to the front door and barks. didn't need to train him. It's a natural thing. He's only 8 weeks old, goes for his puppy shot Friday. Thanks again.

LOU
