Was at my Chev dealer yesterday getting a FE alignment. Noticed a few things in the dealer's lot.
Front end is trying hard to look like a Ford
Kinks in side panels to make thin metal (weight reduction) strong just like Ford
Bed is rolled rather than stamped steel just like Ford "did way back in the 70's" but they say it unique to them
Dooring system has changed from what they had to mimic Dodge in width
Rear door window ledge has a little rise at the end like Toyota
Tahoe smooth curves are gone and it looks like a Ford
Picked this up on the news from nytimes:
“It is hard to overstate the importance of the F-150 to Ford’s overall health. Perhaps more than any other brand, Ford relies on its iconic truck to drive sales volume and its bottom line,” said Eric Ibara, senior analyst at Kelley Blue Book. “So while it may win a lot of awards and generate more than its fair share of media buzz, Ford placed a huge bet on its redesign, and the outcome of that bet may be unknown for a while.”
What-cha-wanna bet the new Ford looks like a Chevy. LMAO.
