I m like you sure wish he would explain , he says he has seen it MANY times , I have never done
anything but bolt it up. 180 degrees out all the bolts are equal distances apart ?

I have no idea how or why, but know for a fact it can happen. If you mark the flywheel/flex plate and trans before unbolting and match that
mark going back together it can be prevented. If you get it 180 out on SOME of them the engine will not rotate. It will turn a few degrees
and stop dead. Back it up same thing. Do not understand it but I have seen it happen. Actually learned about it the hard way.

If the hole pattern is symmetrical but slightly off center, bolting it together 180 degrees out would cause a bind in less than 1/2 turn.

OHHH ,,.. B oy ! ,, I get that ,, But why would anyone engineer something with that possibility .. ?
All the same , if it is possible to bolt up , I could easily see that binding could be happening

The big case flywheels can only go on one way. The 6 holes are not drilled symmetrically. It is infuriating to get a couple bolts into one, only to find you have to take it off again and try a different orientation.
