I was doing it until John(UK) advised that the 15/40 oil keps dirt in suspension rather that letting it all
settle to the bottom. Now if you don't mind running the risk of dirt particles running through the Hyd pump,
cylinders, etc, then it should not be a problem.
6 Gal is the factory fill and a lot of people fill to the bottom bolt on the side PTO cover which is about 5
gallons.
Generally that is done with bad axle/brake seals.

Trans,Hyd,Diff, are all one common Sump..

Unbeknownst to most people is the Fergy designed system was universal between the two makers back in the day.
Shh now. That is a big secret. However if you go asking the Ford guys, they say one kind of fluid and the Fergy
folks say another, never mind it's the same system in both machines.
Shh now. That is still a big secret.
The biggest difference being one says 'Ford' and the other say's 'Ferguson'.
That is a big difference. Some people might say your effed no matter which way you go.

Shh. It's still a secret.
