Oregon Tractor Jack

I am working on a 45 Farmall B and I bought a re-pop hood from a company who's name begins with an S. I put the hood on the tractor and the exhaust pipe and rocker arm cover breather holes are off set to the right a 1/4 to 3/8 from where they should be. There is a serial number split on the A's and B's that I believe is for the method of attachment for the hood. Early had the Deutz type fasteners and the later went with the springs and pull hooks. Was there some change too the side to side position of the breather and the exhaust pipe at some point? I have and early A with a 71k serial number and this hood would not fit on it. There is no amount of adjusting that would make this hood fit short of welding the holes shut and re-cutting them.
I want to dip my bucket into the well of knowledge of the members of this forum to help me clarify whether I am right that this hood was fabricated wrong.
Thanks
