Road Tire Pressure

What would be a good tire pressure for road travel for 11/24 rear tires? Ran 30 lbs. for road ride. Done very well.

I would not put that much pressure in any rear tractor tire. think of the internal surface area, and multiply that by the PSI, and you will be nervous. Use the regular pressure, or the max recommended pressure only. Though not obvious, tread wear will be very uneven with high pressure. JimN

I would not use any where near that much in one. Think about the fact that you have no springs so its hard on the rear end and also the person on the tractor. 15 PSI would be max for any tire on a tractor on or off road. With 30 PSI in them it can be very hard on the rear end and all the other parts because there is almost no bounce

dear lord, talk about a bumpy-arse ride! You should get those down to 15, or else you'll wear the tread off so bad in the middle.

I would run 19 or 20 lbs. for road travel but not 30 lbs. A small increase in air preasure will help to reduce tire wear on the road because when a soft tire make contact with the road and squishes and flexes it is scrubing the road a little extra and tends to wear more in the road contact area.
