Ruston Twin cylinder diesel engine with air start. Back in the day, my first employer had a much larger, single cylinder version which drove our generator for electric power. First job, every morning, was to fire up the Ruston and woe betide you if you used a full air tank and she did not start. It was then, four strong men, two each side, on twin starting handles, turning the massive flywheels. Good workout at 7.30 am on a cold morning. You did not need to go for a run to keep fit, unlike today.

Put that in a JD R. Looks like a tidy engine design I like the Injector timing cam and followers. Jim
