So the neighbor brought over his 4 star cause low didn’t work in the ampli-torc. Found this out when he bought it 5 years ago. So split it removed all needed to get at the ampli-torc. When I pulled out the planetary the cam cage stayed in the tractor. When I looked in I then noticed why low didn’t work. None of the rollers and springs were in there! You could tell someone was in there a long time ago. Fought to get the cam cage out of the housing. Got it all cleaned up and new parts ordered. Was told to check the hub condition. Looked good for what I was told to look for. I should mention that this is my first torc in a moline so I’m learning. Got the new parts and put together with the aid of the service manual and a good moline friend of mine. Spun the over running clutch and felt good. Locked up when spun the other direction. Assemble tractor all back together and test drive. I read somewhere that the transmission needs to warm up some. Is this true? I did put a universal trans/hydraulic oil in it. Didn’t drive much as the tractor ran out of gas!! When I did run it I didn’t noticed much speed change when I pulled the torc lever back. With the lever back I did step the brakes for a moment and the engine really bogged down in RPM. Just here trying to get a feel of the rebuild and testing of this tractor. Thanks for looking.
