Earlier this spring I bought a cherry 1977 Chevy C60 grain truck. It has a 4+2 shift pattern which has a lot more goin on than my buddys Ford C700 with a straight 5 im used to. I have question though. I can up shift the axle just fine but I cant figure out how to down shift it. The sticker on the roof says to go from High to Low you have to shift the transmission before shifting the axle. However I tried it once and it ground the gears before catching hard. I dont know if it was me or the truck and I dont want to hurt it so can someone walk me through how to down shift the rear axle on the fly.
