we use skype for occasional talking to friend over seas. was using yahoo, but was causing all kinds of agrivations. switched to skype, not much better at times. any other similar website to use. thanks

We have Skype. It has worked fine, but we've never used it much after the new wore off. It just sets there collecting dust. Kind of like the CB's were. Guess I'm just old fashioned. I would rather sit in the recliner and talk over the phone, and then just send a picture if necessary or needed.

I use Skype from time to time for talking to distant family. The kids like to see Grandma while talking to her. You do need a really good internet connection. I have used it overseas, and the delay takes some getting used to.

thanks for the replies.we use it about 2.3 times a month to talk and to see each other..it works well, but web site wants to you to sign in then presents problem doing that, sometimes it takes 5-10" to get going..yes it takes a good connection. the one we talk to is phone connected. gets knocked off regularly

Skype is two way "TV" which is through the internet and using the computer. The camera we use is a thing attached to the top of the monitor which is about the size of an egg.

My boss used to use Skype - but switched to Google Hangouts (used to be called Google Chat). He said he feels the audio and video are better with Google.

Check around though... not sure how it works for overseas stuff - boss is just video chatting from MN to MT.

Bit coin is a form of money someone cooked up, it is all electronic, you use the power of your computer to 'mine' the bit coins. The math problem they SE to create coins makes it harder and harder and harder to create any.

Until some day no more can be created.

You trade your electronic bit coins for goods.

The concept is actually sound; but since it is not linked to anything at all, it can rise and fall on a whim in actual value.....

Yes tat is a rough and incomplete explanation, but pretty much the deal.

Skype, oovoo, Facetime (works well but only on Mac platforms) and others are special software and sites for making Internet calls over the Internet instead of with a cell phone. They allow video calls for free. They depend upon a pretty good Internet connection to send all that data, so can be quite jumpy at times.

I use it every week to talk to my sisters. One is in California and the other is in Virginia. We have had very few problems but your internet connection has to be fast to do the video calls.
