super 88 diesel

I am looking at buying a super 88 diesel, I dont know the exact year but it has really nice paint all the tin is there and is straight with nice paint. It has a wide front and brand new rear tires and the front tires are shot. the guy wants 2500 for it, I was just wondering how far out of line he is. I am looking to make this a pulling tractor. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thank you

Don't know where you are located, but if the tractor is as you say it would easily bring $4000.00 around this area. Have you priced a new set of tires lately?

Just bought an 880 diesel that is a puller and am going to put it back original. Where you located,might have some parts you need. Dave

Well if its what you say it is and runs well thats cheap. I have a Super 88 gas that I would not sell for less then $10,000. Buts its my baby so thats why the high price. I got an 88 diesel a few years back and payed $2500 for it and was very happy with it but I then sold if. I got it because I wanted the wide front it had. It also had an injector pump from a 1750 so I was afraid to run it much figuring it would blow its top.

Where is this Super 88 Diesel? Around here it would bring at least $4500 with new tires and good tin unless it has a lot of leaks or the motor is not in good condition. What options does it have hydralics belt pulley wide or narrow front end. The wide fronts seem to bring a little more. Most people remove the belt pulley.

I am in mid west wisconsin, to tell the truth I didnt look at it close enough to see if is has belt pulley or hydralics, I havent heard it run yet, he said it runs good and is gonna let me pull it before I buy it to make sure I like it. Basically all I did is a quick walk around and more less was impressed with the paint and wasnt all the serious about buying it because I am trying to build a john deere a for pullin.
