Super A block

Looking at a replacement block for a Super A, and came across two of them, but one of them has SAMPLE stamped on the side of the block
to the right side of the block close to where the oil filter sits. The other one doesn't, nor does the one on the tractor now.
Any ideas what this means?

Thanks for the quick reply, that's what we needed to know. Bought the block marked sample, as it was in better shape.

O-H was so busy casting blocks that they farmned out some and to keep tract of them they had sample to be cast into them is what i have found i have a tractor with that block
