Tire width adjustment

You have to unbolt the centers from the rims. Then probably flip the centers on the rear end so they "dish out". Then put the tires back on the centers. There are 2 ways they can go back on, but you have to swap side to side to keep the tread headed the right direction.

In the days of this particular tractor for made wheel spacers to adjust width also. I remember using two sets of spacers on dads 861 ford to stretch out to 88". I think dad had a machine shop build his to save a few bucks.
 
Might want to consider getting some good manuals for that tractor.

Which rims do you have on your 640?

If you have the 6 loop type, see the posts below.

If you have the power adjust type that have 4 clamps per wheel simply remove the 4 bolts and clamps from one wheel, lock the brake on the other wheel and slowly operate the tractor in either low or reverse to move the unlocked rim in or out. After setting the rim to the desired spacing, replace the clamps and bolts and tighten tightly. Repeat for the other side.
