As many tractors as you have it would be well worth it to buy Mr. Thinkers Almanac from Green Magazine. It is the best money you can spend in terms of getting nuts and bolts information like production numbers, years built, info on all models of JD tractors...ect.

I have no idea myself but did see a video of a 420 all fuel crawler on Youtube a while ago....can't be many of them!!

Per Benjamin Hain's book, there were 242 in 56, 532 in 57, and 266 in 58 for a total of 1040 in all models.
