If using air pressure to push fuel out of a 5 gallon fuel jug with a transfer hose that has no valve, you have less chance of an explosion than with any electric pump.

This pump is brushless. Don't cars have fuel pumps inside the gas tank?

I have a Tera pump and have extended the longevity by hanging it up to drip dry. I use it only for diesel.

I've bought replacement spouts from the "Gas Spouts" online store. They recently launched a battery/electric transfer pump. Since it's made for gasoline, I assume it will work with fuel.

I bought a similar pump off ebay, D size battery operated.....piece of crap! Actually bought a pair and both had reliability issues....plus you had to fool with D batteries whereas my new pump works, no reliability problems and clips onto a wet cell 12v battery.

All the gas that makes it to the engine goes directly through the innards of the pump while the fuel also flows through the pump's motor to cool and lubricate it.

I give this transfer a 5 star rating and plan to buy another pump for my other pole barn 18 miles away. It does everything as advertised.
No explosions. Auto shutoff Works, NO gas on the floor, I wouldn't want the pump to pump more gas than, 3.2 gpm. And batteries are rechargeable.

George, where did you buy it? Do you have a link? I had bad luck with the Tera pumps but they were warrantied for a year. The one I have now is 2-3 years old, I hang it up to drip dry and thinks that extends longevity. But, I like the looks of yours.
