transporting a skeleton wheel B

I recently purchased an unstyled B with steel fronts and skeleton rears in Nebraska. I have transported my rubber tire tractors on my gooseneck with angle iron ramps and a 2 foot diamond treadplate beaver tail. The rest of the trailer is wood. I loaded the "new" purchase with a winch but it was a scary ordeal with the ramps. Unloading was just as scary. Is there anything I can use to cover the ramps/ treadplate beavertail? The lugs tore the crap out of the wood and that was expected. I need someone who loads and transports steel wheeled tractors to shows to help with a comment or two on what works best for them.

welcome to a steel wheeled tractor that"s why I hate steel wheels and refuse to buy steel wheeled tractors the steel wheels are not as comfortable as ride as a rubber tire and not to mention steel wheels is not good for concrete also they just tear up way to much stuff

I think you missed the question.

See if you can locate some heavy rubber belting from a HD conveyer. Like at a rock quarry or gravel pit or something.

Not really interested in opinions of steel wheel vs. rubber tires at the moment but thanks. There is a historical significance of showing steel wheeled tractors at a show and I hadn"t planned on taking this on a tractor cruise.

Ole popper is on the trail.I use old conveyor belting and just roll it up,use iot also with dozers.Sure beats the ride you get with nothing and when you dont need it roll it up and put it somewhere.I cut two 20 ft lengths and they go up the ramps,dove-tail and onto the bed of the trailer and i just roll them up turn the sideways and nylon strap them down right there and reverse the deal when you get home.

Belting seems to be the way to go, I work on a rock crushing plant, that would be the best place to find the belt cheap. We always have a roll or 2 of used belting around here looking for a new home. Works good in front of your work bench also, easier on the knees & feet at the end of the day. I don't have skeleton wheels yet, but there on the list!

Made this for about $40 bucks to move around tractor. Cheaper if you have some scrap iron. its a large piece of C channel with scrap rear wheel hubs welded to it. Maybe something like this would work. it bolts to the drawbar.

Terry,
That is a very clever idea. I'd appreciate a couple more pics at different angles to see your handywork and mounting attachments.
Thanks for sharing,
Bob

Heres one pic, its kinda in a ruff spot now. but it is turned over. has two bolt holes in it which bolt onto the drawbar frame. I removed the drawbar. hubs are rear from an escort I think, junk. and some junk tires and rims.
